That's the whole point isn't it? Because an ASHP or central AC are already heat pumps, a watersource system trying to cool on very high EWT's could cost as much or more to run. Worse yet as some can attest to, it may lock out on the hottest days. You can mitigate some of the trouble with large loop fields, but there is a practical limit. Dry sand (slow heat migration), high ambients, high demand at some point become a "3 strikes your out situ." Some areas may require vertical systems only. joe |
