My Q is I have an add on for $4,500 for a Venmar Duo 1.9 Energy Recovery Ventilation system ducted OR for $3,200 a Venmar Duo 1.9 attached to the HVAC ductwork. Are any of these worth that amount of $$$$. CAn I do seperately by someone else and save? Lisa

You can spend less on an ERV. You can hire someone else but make sure you don't void geo installers warranties.
Whether or not you need one depends on things I don't know about your home. Ask your installer to explain the choices and their value to you as well as payback.
Good Luck,
Joe
