Hi,I am going to build an earthship an hour outside st.louis,mo. I am wondering about radon gas emmiting from the earth into the earthship through the walls and plaster.

I have never heard of any problems with gas emission. Checkout the http://www.earthship.com website.

You certainly should be concerned about radon and take appropriate building precautions to prevent it if needed.

Check with the local health department, and see if radon levels in your area are high enough to be concerned about.

Check out the offgassing report by the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Basically, tires are toxic in piles, NOT Earthships...
