I am with Superior Home Technology out of Orlando, Florida. The appraisals on our homes comes in with Energy Efficiency-Superior....Construction-Superior...
This allows drastics breaks in insurance.
Our system consists of panels 4' x 8' 4' x 9' or 4' x 10' with studs every 16" on center with foam insulation double sided with Hardie Board. This gives you a R-30 Insualtion Factor.
We use a Steel SIP Ceiling and Roof with 26 gauge steel double sided with 6 inches of foam which gives you a R40 Insulation.
Down in Okeechobee, Florida they were face with Hurricanes Jean and Francis. The insurance down there for Stick and Block for a typical 3/2/2 1800 sf home was $3,000+ anually. We got a quote using our system for $1,100 anually. Of course we had to provide the specs to the Insurance Carrier to verify our claims.
What I am getting at is that you have to go to the insurance carrier with the specs in order to get the breaks...
Good Luck
