We are building a log home in New Brunswick, Canada and where planning on using electric radiant heating through the home, but we have to rethink the budget. My plan is to use radiant heating in the living room\dining room\kitchen to heat the floor rather then the cathedral ceiling. In the bathroom and bedrooms I want to use space heaters which will be less costly and allow me to put money into a soapstone woodstove.
Could anyone give me recommendations on what type of space heater would be most efficient. I am looking at a model that would fit on the wall.
I really liked the idea of the vent free propane space heaters such as Glow Warm that fit on a wall, they would help reduce my electric bill, but they are not approved for use in Canada. What I would like to do is find an efficient electric space heater and replace it when the vent free heaters are finally approved in Canada.
