I was considering using Hardie board over OSB SIPs on my house (blind nailing issue not withstanding). Over the weekend I got advice from a contractor to stay away due to cracking around nail holes and "delamination issues" on non SIP homes. So this does not become a flame session please respond only if you know of such issues, what causes them etc. I only come here seeking knowledge...

I've cracked Weatherboards hand nailing without predrilling many times, pneumatically fastened will avoid cracks. I've also put stress cracks in prefinished siding by handnailing. I've seen what I think he is referring to by using the term "delamination" when doing reno work on unpainted cut ends. It always comes down to good installation practices.
