Hello,
My son has a single car vinyl sided unheated garage where he keeps a lot of paint that needs to be kept above 50 degrees. He is leaving a very old space heater on all the time. I was wondering if there was a new type of space heater that he could use safely. He said he could not add from the house due to code rules. Is there any other way to heat the gargage. I'd like to get him whatever he needs for Christmas. He is a recent college graduate and had just opened his own faux finishing business. I'd appreciate whatever help you can give. Thanks! Nancy |

Is it already well insulated? Honestly that would be the best $ spent. If you’re talking electrically heated, 1000 watts is 1000 watts, some heaters are better at directing the heat on what you want it on, but the same amount of heat is made given the same wattage. |

I'd make a small very well insulated cabinet to minimize the heating requirements and use a dog house heating pad. Some of the pads have a thermostat and don't draw a lot of current. |

A kerosene heater will give you more heat for your dollar, but then you will end up having to fill it up. The insulated cabinet idea is probably the best thing you could possibly do, but insulating the whole garage and heating it slightly will be very nice for those cold mornings to have a warm car. |
