We are considering using closed cell spray foam for our 2x6 framing, and came across airkrete. Looks like an interesting product, but is it worth it? How does it compare to closed cell foam? Cost, quality, and other factors?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I am not sure about the cost of airkrete compared to other foams in the US, but here in Canada, the cost is very competitive. The benefits of airkrete, being fireproof, compared to urethane foam, and being 100% environmentally friendly, where urethane is not. The R value will be less as its open cell, as its an air barrier also, but not a vapour barrier. Its still a huge step cost wise from fiberglass, but the benefits are plenty
