Good day all
Who does the Thermal video / camera and fan in door test to check the insulation / air tightness of your home?
Heating and cooling contractors? Home inspectors? Who?
Regards

We use Fed verified Home Energy Raters:
Energy Star Home Energy Raters
Key thing for us has been to start using blower door and thermal scan BEFORE drywall is hung. Ideally, three tests, one with just sheathing & windows / pre-insulation, #2 pre-drywall, #3 final complete.
If you can get down to <2 ACH50 for an average house, you're doing really well for US standards. Canadian R-2000 requires <1.5 ACH50, Swedes <0.5ACH50.
Try for < 500 CFM50 pre-drywall if you can.
Not surprisingly, it's much easier to find and fix the holes in the skin of a building while you can still get to them. |
