I'm looking at alternative spray foam options besides Corbond.  Increasingly, clients are concerned with the environmental impact of the blowing agents (HFC's not being ozone depleting, but they contribute to the green house effect).  While I still believe that this is a trade-off that is worth it for our cold Maine winters, we want to have an another option.

I've looked at soy-based spray foams, and one that stood out is called BioBased 1701.   It is a closed cell foam (they also make an open call foam BioBased 501w) that uses water as the blowing agent.  The R-value is less than Corbond, but other than that, I can see no obvious drawbacks.

Has anyone had experieince with this product?  (espically for cold climates).  Anything we should be wary of?  Know of any case studies out there?  Should we be looking at another product?

I look forward to your comments...
