ICF home - 3750 sq ft - geothermal heat/DSH/Electric water heater - Cleveland Oh - AlpinePure HRV "APHRV200V"
Getting my blower door test done this Friday. Sealed up all the service penetrations real well so I hope to get a very low ACH50 score.
The folks doing the test asked if my dryer vent and HRV vent had louvers on them.
The dryer vent does - the HRV vents (both) do not.
They said that they will "tape them up" when they do the blower door test. Here is the email quote from the testing company:
"
Y
our
HRV unit should have an automatic damper if not that can be corrected at a later date. Our technicians will tape off any openings to perform the testing. Therefore no urgency for the test."
Questions:
Do I have an "automatic damper" already?
Do I need louver covers on my HRV vents?
Thanks
Todd
