I have two hot water solar panels, they are made by Radco products Inc, Model 408P-HP and have a 32.28 Sq. Ft. of surface area each (46 x 101.5 inches). They are about 15 years old. The sealing caulk for the glass is dried up, but it appears I could remove the the tops of them easily enough clean and reseal them with new caulk.  Any thoughts. I was hoping they be worth about $400 each, sicne new panels are well over $1,000.

A couple of these on Craigslist for $300 http://southjersey.craigslist.org/mat/775999790.html

I've been buying panels and watching prices.  Basically, they seem to go from about $150 to about $400.  This doesn't seem to depend as much on the quality as on the availability (which these had been available when I bought mine).

You might try pressure testing them, since used panels are always a risky purchase if you don't know if they leak.

You might also explain what you've run through them since I hear that glycol will degrade the panels.

Removing and re-caulking the glazing is not difficult, but it is long and tedious.

Yes that was my ad. :) I had some interest, but no buyers, A typical panel contains 26 pounds of copper and about 80 pounds of aluminum, I got $75 each from them at the scrap yard after I seperated the components.  I have the Glass and insulated panels left, I plan to use the insulation in the basement, leaving only the glass to dispose of.

4 sheets of Free glass, anyone interested? :)

What's wrong with the folks in New Jersey that the don't want solar panels?

The glass should sell on CraigsList - it's probably tempered, someone must have a solar project in mind.  Or maybe you could build one of these Solar Air Heater with it.
