I am comparing windows and getting sticker shock! But As I read the fine print on Pella Pro line, Deep into it where most people don't read I found the following"Pella is not responsible for claims or damages.....then specifically states "Pella should not be used in a barrier wall system which do not allow the proper management of moisture within the wall systems: such as Exterior Insulated Finished Systems (EIFs) such as stucco or simular systems....... It did list 4-5states like CA that must accept them. Check PELLA for all window types Lisa

No reason that EIFs shouldn't have moisture management systems integrated for that matter.

I agree, just thought I should pass what I read in their fine print. When I asked the sales rep (without telling him what I read in the warrenty) He said that there "should be no problem" not sure if he would put that in writing though if I planned to used stucco". great forum great comments as always. Lisa

i am a home inspector in the philadelphia area for the past 11 years. the reason why they put that disclaimer in is bacause EIFS and stucco are almost always installed wrong! and will allow water to enter behind the stucco and EIFS, which is normal, to a point. but without a way for the water/moisture to exit.there should be openings around the windows, doors and at the bottom of the stucco walls called weep screens. without these, moisture will collect, rot wood and cause mold to grow. they are scared to death about mold and want to cover themselfs. i could tell horror stories about stucco improperly installed and needing $150k in stucco work. hope this helps someone. this is probabily not unique to pella

I don't know of any window that will warrenty in an EIFS wall, after the Dryvit problems in the past.
