Good day all,

I just wanted to introduce myself and my company. I have to believe there should be interest here at the Green Building Talk website.

Insulation Depot recycles/reclaims EPS, XEPS, ISO, and Composite foam board insulation. We keep 100's of tons of polystyrene out of our landfills yearly, with a goal to keep 10,000 truckloads a year from reaching our landfills. A major component to reaching our goal is to set up a national network of resellers to reach out regionally and provide these reusable sheets to green builders for their LEED projects. Presently we are selling truckload quantities at 40% to 70% savings, but in no way can we reach all the folks that would and could use these products. It's essential that we find resellers for these products and I'm opening this up for discussion as to how we can best accomplish this. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to post any suggestions that you have. If you'd prefer to have a one on one dialogue, please feel free to contact me at 508 879-2760 as I would be happy to further explain what we're doing. I'm anxcious for your feedback. Thank you in advance.

Regards,
David Volpe

Hi David:

Thanks for the valuable post.

It will be nice to have the information on your website where the latest inventory of products (with related info and properties), pricing and shipping charges are posted.

Regards!

Hi Yogi,

Thank you for the reply, however I cannot provide that info on the website. #1, our inventory changes constantly due to sales of existing product and daily deliveries to 30+ warehouses. Presently we do not have the software capabilities to provide an accurate on time inventory through a website. That will change one day as we continue to grow. #2, shipping charges vary greatly according to the location of the warehouse, quantities shipped, and where we'd be shipping our product to. We have to do customized ontime quotes because rates change by the day. There are at least 50+ variables in our pricing based on amount, location, product, product demensions, etc. etc. One thing that is stagnent is our truckload prices. We have them for end users and lower rates for our resellers. Please feel free to call me if I can help clarify any questions you may have. Thanks again for your interest.

Regards,
David Volpe

Good morning Greg/Josh,

Unfortunately, recycling ICF's is not our business model. Our goal is to reclaim "full" usable sheets of once used foam board insulation and re-introduce them back into the building trades to be used as originally intended. We do not process/grind/densify these sheets. Thank you for your interest.

DavidV,

Where do they come from? How are they "Used" but in good enough condition, examples.  Do you get any of your product direct from the manufacture, but as scratch and dent?

Patrick, I sent you a private email. For the benefit of the board, I can send pictures of our products in our inventory if anyone wants to contact me personally. The product can be used anywhere you need to apply insulation. Yes, we do get "overstock" products at times and presently have 35 truckloads of 1/2" High Density PolyISO boards.

To clarify, you do not recycle EPS but resell used EPS, is this correct?

Is there a consistent product that has an assured supply?  Right now construction is slow but when it picks up will your supply be able to meet the increased demand with an assured recycling stream to ensure a construction project won't hang up waiting to get the material?  Also, will you be able to supply the west coast, specifically southern California?
