Not sure if this has been linked before, but here is a link to a round ICF house I ran across.  I have no financial or building material interest in this project.  Found his "system" approach interesting...a concept that gets preached here from time to time... :-)

I do wonder what kind of "stucco" he used on the outside.  Didn't see any lathe or mechanical connection.  Maybe some of your more experienced eyes will be able to ID it.

Cheers...

We are building one of these right now.  Ours is a basement for a Deltec home.  Deltec is out of NC...you can look them up..    The house we are building is a 56' diameter with 22 sides with a bump out that looks like a diamond stuck on the side.  The walls are 10' and we are using TF.  There are a couple more in planning stages near this one.
Years ago, we built many basements for Alpine Dome Homes out of Eugene, Or.  To me, ICF is a shoe-in for these types of basements and could be used above grade.  These foundations require super accuracy....probably the reason why you don't see too many built with ICF...

A friend of mine built one in Florida. Through the last hurricane 2 years ago, most of the houses around his had signifigant damage while his stood firm with virtually zero damage.

This guys system is very interesting. Love his homemade water heater.

Would someone like to explain what role the chain-linked fence is supposed to play in the concrete on the roof?

It's obvious(to me) that it's a "poor man's" steel reinforcement. Just like rebar in a concrete wall or mesh/wire in a slab.

He's getting the benefit of steel reinforced concrete with a fence. Pretty creative really.

....jc<br>If you're not building with OSB SIPS(or ICF's), why are you building?

Another style of roof for a round house is a reciprocal roof.
