I'm wondering how this may effect polysteel distributors. Are there any Polysteel distributors out there that are experiencing any changes you would like to let us know about?
Thanks.

It looks like ARXX and the venture capitalists behind it (Nth Power, etc.) are doing a roll-up play in the industry. The industry appears ripe for consolidation.

Apparently the offer was to low and Eco-Block is still on the market. But new rumors abound of a deal that Green Block is buying out the beliguered Build Block who's company has been on the market at the verge of going under for a while now. I think this is a good move for Green Block and will change their sytem and options dramatically.

Aaron,

I have many friends, contacts, and acquaintances in the ICF industry. And as you are probably aware it is a fairly small group. So when something of this scale happens it is really hard to keep it quiet. I actually have two different independant sources of my info.

This thread, I think, brings up a good point in that with the struggling housing market and the struggiling economy, the ICF industry is ripe for consolidation. I think that companies with the money and the worlds push to energy efficeincy/ green building will make the next couple of years very interesting in the ICF manufacturing game. I know a gentleman who is trying to launch his own brand of ICF. He has been at it for a while and is looking for venture capital. Not my cup of tea, venture capitalizing that is. The timing may be right for that to happen. For heavens sake even the once thought dead bird has risen from the ashes and Phoenix is once again trying to take flight.

These are interesting times I say.

There are several articles on the web in reference to Polysteel Merger With ARXX ... such as the following  ...

http://www.azom.com/News.asp?NewsID=12555

Consolidation of ICF manufacturers is part of the business and nature's organic process ... and I think  in some time we will only see a handful of players.

After years of following this forum, I finally find a post I can't resist!

For the record, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor posted above that BuildBlock is in any way "beleaguered" or "on the market." As the Marketing Director for BuildBlock since its inception in September 2004, I believe I qualify as the ultimate "insider" on the topic.

Anyone who knows our CEO, Mike Garrett, knows what a tight ship he runs. Because of his leadership, BuildBlock is lean and strong at time when many companies are suffering from the economic turn. In fact, our 11th and 12th manufacturing facilities are currently coming online and we already have another one in the works.
While we feel the economic pressures like everyone else, our foundation is strong and we have no need for nor interest in being bought out. On the contrary, we're more prone to entertain just the opposite, but I wouldn't want to start any rumors. ;)

Anyone who wants to discuss this further is very welcome to contact me at 405-840-3386 or tsingleton@buildblock.com.

Sincerely,
Terrisa Singleton
