Has anyone had any experience or heard about "SuperBlocks" ICF's. I'll be starting to build in about 2 months and have been approached by a contractor that uses "Superblocks". The company's site is superblocks.com

Buyerres,
I have never used super blocks but I have scoured their site and this is my opinion. It looks to me like much of their information is just hypothetic info with no real test data or studies to back up their claims. Example they say their block is R24, their panel is 2 1/2 inches on each side but they don't mention their foam density so you cannot comfirm their claim. I saw no ICC, ASTM, or any other approvals or testing done by independant labs on their claims of flame spread, sound transmission, fire rating and so on. I did look at some other of their "specifications" and think it is tough to believe. I used to work in the Fire Marshals office in Seattle and the fire code gives a 6 inch concrete wall a 3 hour fire rating and unless you have an ASTM, Factory Mutual, UL, or other approved test done proving your rating, I would be suspect of their 4 1/2 inch core wall has a 3 hour fire rating.
I even searched the ICC-ES site for a legacy report and found none.
Now their block may work and perform just fine. Their block may even meet or exceed their claims, but until you have data backing it up it is just that a "claim". So I say buyer beware.

Buyer beware! When in doubt, use a proven wall system preferably one with good customer support & a local rep for answers & concerns.
