We are covering the above grade portions of our ICF foundation with a site-cast concrete veneer.  The veneer imitates the common decorative block used from the turn-of-the-century through the 1940s.  The veneers average about 1-1/4” in thickness.  Peal and stick membrane from over footings below to the top of the new wall.  Expanded metal lath backer behind the veneer.  We will adhere the veneer then come back later and point the joints.

We recently saw a HDTV home improvement show featuring a project that used a spray foam adhesive to adhere a cast stone veneer.  Does anyone have any experience with this method and whether it is appropriate for our project?

P.S., We are replacing our existing rusticated block foundation that had seriously degraded and wanted to replicate the look that existed.  Unfortunately, there are no west coast manufacturers of traditional rusticated block – the closest was in Michigan, and shipping would cost twice the cost of the veneers.  We found some used forms on Craigslist and bought them. Except for our labor, the blocks will cost a fraction of what we could order them for.
