To the newcomers of ICF Web, you should be forewarned that much of the opinion stated as fact in these forums are just that. Many of the options stated by pros on this site are basically just setups for failure.
Remember, hiring an ICF installer is like interviewing a new employee or trying to impress a potential employer with a dazzling resume and interview that hopefully sells them into hiring you as the best candidate. I would guess that in any profession that requires "professional" people, reading and writing play a critical part of the evaluation process. With that in mind, to help you decipher the lingo presented on this site, we decided to offer free of charge, a mini pocket translator that should assist you in reading some of these posts. Be sure to print this and tape it near your monitor so that it will be handy for quick reference:
"Howe"....aka How "recomendations"....aka recommendations "licenced"....aka licensed "aquire"....aka acquire "develope"....aka develop "expierience"....aka experience "explaination"....aka explanation "individule"....aka individual "shouldent"....aka shouldn't "complement"....aka compliment (wrong word) "regularily"....aka regularly "numorous, numourous"....aka numerous "farenheight"....aka fahrenheit "apparantly"....aka apparently "consolodate"....aka consolidate "benifits"....aka benefits "ventillation"....aka ventilation "suttle"....aka subtle "recieve"....aka receive "ensure"....aka insure (wrong use of word) "compromized"....aka compromised "suseptable"....aka susceptible "wether"....aka whether "alternatly"....aka alternately
These are just a few...as we said, this issue is free, the full volume would cost too much. Hopefully you won't need this list for long and the more intelligent individuals will start to consider quality vs. quantity....meaning perhaps they will read the post before they submit it and make the necessary corrections. There really isn't a way to make corrections on the misinformation side just yet, but hopefully soon.
Off topic, a book that will open your eyes to the acceptance of this practice is "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America" by Charlotte Thompson Iserbyt.
Happy reading.

Hey Ian:
I don't know if you are aware, but some of these are Canadian spellings which are correct, depending on location. Also, the Canadian multi use word, eh is spelt, (that ones for you) "EH!!" Ha Ha, have a good one.
