About 10-years or so ago This Old House introduced to its viewers a SIP product that did not use expanded polystyrene. I believe that the core was similar to ICN (isocynurate) or something similar. I have not been able to find any SIP manufacturers using different core materials other than expanded polystyrene. Anyone got any info

Brae, three manufacturers make both EPS panels plus an alternative such as foamed-in-place polysocyanurate (Winter Panel Corp) or urethane (the Murus Co.; W.H. Porter). Several other manufacturers make exclusively urethane panels (Alchem, K.C. Panels, and Thermocore Inc.). Agile Building Systems has planned for several years to manufacture polisocyanurate panels, but hasn't begun operations yet. In addition, Stress Panel Manufacturing makes panels with either extruded polystyrene (Dow Chemical's Blueboard) or expanded polystyrene. (All of the above companies have links in the Product Directory section.)

Finally, Ray-Core Inc. (Lock Haven PA) makes an unfaced, structural insulated panel that consists of urethane cores ganged with integrated PC studs. Generically, unfaced panels can provide excellent energy efficiency but lack the comparable strength advantages of traditional sandwich-type SIPs.
