Will begin building house Sept. '07. 1 story. Will use a contractor. Would like to do fiber cement sip walls (6 1/2") and OSB sip roof (8 1/4"). 2 inital questions I would appreciate some help on. 1) Any problems with the FC sip delaminating from the poly because of heat/cold/wet/dry conditions. Will get direct sun on exposed south side, 85 -95 temp. 8 months a year. 2) Even painted properly, the paint and FC will absorb some moisture, as they dry out, will that affect the paint bond to the panel. Contractor builds with 2x6 and icyene and with OSB sip's, but has never ventured into FC sip's. I have great confidence he will research properly and make proper decisions, but I would like to know for my info going in what is the "smart play". Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks. SC.

There shouldn't be. All SIPS should have a lifetime warranty for delamination. If the manufacturer doesn't have that warranty, 'Dump The Dude'.

Can't help you there. Sounds like a question for a 'Painting Forum'.

If you're not building with OSB SIPS(or ICF's), why are you building?
