Is anyone familiar with GrailCoat Coatings (Grailcoat.com) as an alternative to stucco for covering SIPS.  It appears they eliminate the need for a drain plane behind the stucco but I was wondering how this ties in around the windows or if this completely eliminates the need for a house wrap (particularly in hot humid climates).  I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about this.

We actually got certified about 3 years ago to do Grailcoat systems over steel but, never made the transition because the cost was about the same as wire lath/cement.

They only could show me about 2 jobs that were done directly to the OSB. The flaw  - as I see it is; if you have just one pin-hole ..... you're in trouble.

We had been using Stuc-O-Flex directly to steel sips and had a bad experience with blistering, in particular with their "whetstone" color on two separate jobs. You will never get an approved "written" installation from them over steel sips. It's all verbal and their warranty is to replace materials only.
It's either the panels were too hot, too cold, there must have been dew on them, yadda, yadda, yadda.
It couldn't be; they never tested in real field conditions to see if the stuff would stick?
They are currently being sued by a large steel SIPs modular company in Leesburg, FL. for the same problems on 110 portable class rooms.

I have been led to believe Grailcoat is in the process of concluding it's business operations.  Does anybody have information to the contrary.

I believe they are being sued by numerous people and have now formed a new company DJ Grail Company but still selling GrailCoat.  They offer a 20 year warranty but have no attention on being in business long enough to cover it or they will just change the name again.  The company does not own anything of value the office is a rental home, the product is made for them by another company, and they pay someone to use there warehouse and teach the classes. 

Beware of Grailcoat!  I spoke with the COO/VP Roger Paul of the DJ Grail company that sold me Grailcoat for my Timberframe/SIP house.  My house has rot/delamination in one area and cracks over the entire structure.  Roger initially told me he did not see how a SIP structure could havesubstrate movement but now is denying the claim.  This product does NOT do what it claims and the company will not come look at the product and they will not discuss any issues.  The rot in a side wall of a full panel has no visible cracks or problems until you press on the center of the wall.  There are no openings or penetrations on that wall.  If anyone has a lawsuit pending with these crooks and would like some help please let me know, I will be glad to help.  We built this house over the last three years and have poured all of our time and money into the project.  We did research (not enough obviously) and tried to choose what appeared to be the best products.  My ignorance will most likely cause my family financial hardship.  Hopefully we can recover from this.  Please take a word of advice and aviod Grailcoat like the plauge.

As a builder I get fooled myself by products that are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I usually will experiment on myself, before testing on a customer and have been burned. Just cause it looks like a duck and walks like a duck doesn't mean it will quack .......... it might just oink!

Thanks to everyone for all the information.  This was not what I expected (even had SIP manufacturers recommend grailcoat) but I expect this will save me a lot of grief not using their system.  Wanting to hear both sides of the story I even requested info in regards to this several weeks ago from grailcoat.  I have received no response which tells me all I need to know.
