i'm a gen. contractor in n.e florida. i've been aware of sips since they were known as stress skin panels (20 yrs.?). i've built 5 homes in south florida using ICF's. i currently live in a modular.
looking to do a small twnhse project and new personal home in sips.
i'm convinced that the urethane is the superior foam. so, the remaining mystery is the skin. looked at OSB, cement fiberboard, and 24 gage metal. all have +'s and -'s.
recently came across a material called nyloprime. the sip panels are known as nyloboard sips.
seems to be space age and bullet proof. and very, very green.
anyone out there using this material? know of a dealer. my efforts with my connection have produced little but frustration.
