First you need to change your name, it makes you sound objectionable.
But seriously your metal siding was probably aluminum which expands and contracts greater than steel. Aluminum is usually hollow behind it , unlike the steel skins that are laminated to a thick foam core. Having built over 70 steel sips homes/buuildings expansion noise has not been an issue.
