Posted By Scott Harbinson on 12/31/2007 2:53 PM I am wondering if someone can tell me what a SIPS company needs to complete a bid. Can it work with the stick built (panelized) drawings in a PDF format? Anything that contains the dimensions of the structure will work. The more detailed and accurate that the drawings are, the more accurate the estimate.
Are details like rough openings required or are window/door dimensions OK? They help, but for my rough(usually very close) estimates I include all openings, so I treat the building as if it had no windows or doors.
Do companies typically engineer the entire design? All the companies that I know of will for an extra fee.
Finally, as I'm sure few people are familiar with SIPS on the island, do most companies supply/refer crews for the installation? Crews, a local contractor, or a tech rep, yes they usually will. |
