I have built with ICF's off and on since the mid seventies. I believe thay are better than building with sticks. They do have several weaknesses and the best ICF ever is not in the market yet.
I have seen mice burrow into the EPS many times and do not know of a solution other than to not have them left exposed for a long time. The other problem is young woodpeckers and some types of bugs.
Call an exterminator. Do not presume there is any more defense than if you had built with sticks because there is not.
