Van,

The easiest thing to do would be contact your SIP supplier, and ask if they have engineering and design services. Make sure you provide them with any pertinant local codes, such as wind loads, snow loads, things like that. If they don't do this, contact a local design engineer with SIP experience, and have them provide your SIP supplier with drawings and structural specs. If that doesn't work, go with one of the bigger providers like Porter, R-Control or Premier that do provide engineering and design services.

Van,

Steve is right; any major provider will have Design and Engineering staff. Bring in your plans and they would be happy to provide an estimate. I know that our company always works off standard blue prints and we design and engineer our system around them. Most times we are able to manufacture your product to the exact plans you had in mind. From time to time the odd window may have to be moved over to accommodate for point loads. Make sure that whoever you decide to go with provides engineered stamped drawings. This will ensure that everything has been accounted for.

Best of luck to you.

Steel SIPs

What is it? -

Steel SIPs, or Steel Structural Insulated Panels, are structural framing panels, about 4" wide, made of densely packed expanded polystyrene, commonly referred to as EPS, sandwiched between two exterior sheets of galvanized steel.

If you are looking for engineering/design drawings for steel SIPs I would be glad to help you. Here is a section drawing of metal SIPs on a ICF basement.
