I know of two companies who make these in Ohio.  Are there any other companies that use galvanized tube as the framing for the SIPs?

I am hoping someone else can give me additional sources.

The two I know are:

Green Source  216-851-4641  1170 Ivanhoe Road Cleveland OH 44110
www.greensourceproducts.com

TechBuilt  440-622-3958 435 W. Prospect, Painesville OH 44077
http://www.techbuilt.com/

Would be interested in others experiences too.

I saw a really nice strawbale home with a metal frame, but it wasn't galvanized, just painted. Since it's in a dry environment, I'm not sure what the extra money gets you in this case.

How do those systems handle heat transfer through the metal frame?

As for techbilt I just saw a project finished last month. Plan on visiting their plant soon. As for heat transfer the tubes don't touch. Picture two 1x2 x 18 ga tubes (or 2x2) opposite each other with rigid foam in between (5.5" up to 12") They sculpt out where the tubes go- why I don't know because the air space would get you extra R value. The tubes are fastened by screws. And all the strength appear to be from the tubes for the loads.

Galvanzed versus painted steel. I think the only reason is Leed credits and marketing. Otherwise I also don't see the point- steel buildings are built every day with out being galvanized. It only seems the "carport" type buildings are made with the galvanized tubes.

Yes this is the same system. Just a lighter gauge tube. Where do I find a complete listing of everyone building this way?
