Does anybody make a kitchen hood that also acts as a ERV or heat exchanger for a residential kitchen?

Think you might have a grease problem?

I have installed electric cook tops with no hood at all if there are no combustibles near,

You could then have a remote ERV exhaust near the cooking area

I agree that you will have a grease problem with the ERV or HRV if used as a range hood.  However, I routinely locate an exhaust for HRV's in the kitchen.  Depending on the situation, I will use a recirculating range hood.

But you should not use an ERV or HRV for the range hood itself.
