After being left homeless by a hurricane several years ago, I started my search for companies that offer green, energy efficient housing,  This SIP housing is far superior to the travel trailers usually offered to survivors in hurricane country, or if you have a remote area that you would like to have a cabin, this SIP cabin would be ideal.  They are made in Louisiana.

I know these people, while they are assembled in La, the metal panels used are mfgd. in FL.

I also found some sip kits that you can pickup on your trailer and take to your site and set up, they come with all the screws, foam and etc, very easy and inexpensive. www.newfrontieronline.com I picked mine up in Oklahoma and I talked to David

In their construction pics it looks like they're assembling them with a steel frame. Or maybe that's just what they work on in the shop.

Looks like steel CSJ joist covered with a 3" metal panel floor, these guys originally did insulated carport covers and patios

Definitely better than a FEMA trailer, and much more efficient and green than a Katrina Cottage.

They're in Mamou, heck they should make it look like an Acadian cottage and forget the faux logs on the side.

Jelly,
On their web site if you click on the Cottages and Alternative Housing they do build Acadian cottages.
