I'm new at this but here goes...
I have a 200 x 100 foot pond with a spillway that is roughly 32" wide x 36 " high that runs about 10 feet long with a beautiful waterfall at the end of it. It has a fair amount of water running through it from about October through May only stopping if the weather causes it to freeze or when it hits July when it tends to stop running for the summer (unless we get a heavy rain storm).
At this time it is January 5th and it is still running. I would love to harness this hydro power but really don't know where to start.

Any leads would be appreciated.
Thanks.

There is a fair bit out there to read. I looked into it a year ago and found I don't have the water supply to amount to make it worthwhile. Do a search for "micro hydro" and go from there. Your situation sounds like a high flow low head situation meaning lots of water but not much of a drop in height. You really don't need a big generator to supply power since the water runs 24 hours per day unlike wind and solar. Depending on how much water you have moving if you have the means contact one of the engineering firms that work in micro hydro, it could payoff for you. Good luck. Oh in case you really want to get off the beaten path, look in to Hydraulic Ram Pumps if you want a cheap but noisy way to move water around your place.
