I would like to retrofit my house to use radiant.  One problem is that the house is half on slab and half over a finished basement, so I need a system that can work for all three types (over slab, over rafters, and basement).  At least I do have cathedral ceilings so I could raise the floor some if needed (and over an existing slab, it looks like I would probably need to add a 2 to 3 inches to get radiant).  I like the idea of the low-mass systems like warmboard, but not sure if warmboard makes sense in a retrofit as opposed to new construction.  Looks like there are several other systems like WarmRite and EasyFloor that might make more sense if they are just going over an existing subfloor, but I haven't seen any good reviews/recommendations for them.  Any advice or experiences would be most appreciated.

Also does anyone know an experienced radiant contractor in the Ithaca, NY area?  I've been looking and asking, but haven't found one yet.
