A little more information.

My house is in the central valley of California...extreme cold is not an issue..air temps rarely go below 40 and when the temps go below 40 it is only for a couple of hours

House Construction:

6" SIPS walls
8" SIPS roof
6" polished concrete floor
105 gallon Marathon electric water heater

House is all electric (future solar pv and/or thermal)

I have not run any heat for the last 3 weeks and the floor temp is 62 and air temp 63...we had some nice sunny days and open the house for solar gain.  The thicker slab was installed for the thermal mass.

I do not want to install any type of gas or wood  boiler I want to have a bridge or the cloudy days

Has anyone used a heat pump pool heater for a radiant floor heat source  ...would this be feasible?

Thanks

If you are referring to an airsource pool heater heatpump where would you put it? Performance is only down to about 40*F. Water to water heat pumps work well if loops are frequent enough.

This is an interesting question I have wondered as well. Water to water heat pumps , Geo earth systems and air based reverse cycle heat pumps are fairly expensive systems. Pool heaters are a commodity with a fairly extensive group of mechanics familiar with there operation/service. Backed with an electric boiler or water heater as buffer for colder days could this be a cost effective option. ???

For space heating, I'd say water to water yes-air to water no.
