I am looking at some good solution to be able and control as many as 10 zones in a vacation house in northern NH remotely. I have seen Tekmar and ENV. I would really like some feedback on these or other choices. Remote control is desired because of the long thermal time constants and the inability to predict occupancy.

We've used Bay Web. Check them out...

We have ENV in our shop and we use Tekmar routinely. Tekmar is more sophisticated for radiant control, ENV is very flexible but more work to set up. ENV would probably be cheaper for your system if you need internet control and I do like it's "heartbeat" function so it knows if the connection is lost for long... initially though it does put a lot of weight on the installer to install and configure.
we have tied phone switches into many vacation homes as well, which is a low cost way to get a "vacation mode cutoff" into a system. could probably do it with an internet thermostat as well like the Ecobee.
all depends on whether you want to monitor and control individual zones remotely and get additional features like the heartbeat, or whether you simply need an on/off system for "vacation mode" you can toggle remotely.

Rob-
What are some of the things that have been mentioned as "needed from afar" other than simply turning the house "on" or "off"?

some people want to be able to see and control individual zones, manually manage their program schedules from their laptop, be able to toggle heat/cool tstats between modes remotely, stuff like that.

So far, the only thing that I have been able to conjure up would be the ability to alter the temperature in a selected room to be rid of unwanted house guests - or perhaps to selectively turn off the hot water heater. Of course, I could just turn off all of the heat via AWAY by phone, but that would be far less fun.
