Hi

I just need to confirm the design process in this document (http://www.uponorpro.com/~/media/Ex...sc_lang=en) which is dated 2005 is still valid.

Are there any things to watch out for when applying the chart on page 4?

I see there are two temperature scales across the bottom, one for 10*F and one for 20*F. This doesn't seem to be explained in the document. What are they?

Thanks

John

Ok so Uponor contacted me and confirmed the 2005 Joist Trak installation handbook is still current and accurate.

The two rows of supply temps along the bottom the chart on page 4 are "delta T" - the difference between supply and return temps. The Uponor tech told me its basically up to the designer to choose whatever delta T he feels is appropriate. So that still leaves me asking, "how does one choose?" I presume its a combination of heat source and "designer preference".

Can anyone provide some advice or input on "delta T"?
(I am planning on Altherma ASHP and Joist Trak in "code +50%" insulated home in 18*F design temperature climate).

Thanks

John

Delta T is based on heat load and emitter output, which is mostly a matter of design temperature, again based on heat load of each room.

Thanks Badger but that doesn't really help me figure out delta T.
