So I am bringing all the PEX loops (5) up into a 24" wide 2x6 stud bay when I wondered if there might be a more appropriate placement than "dead center". I am planning on having two rows of PEX lines, one supplies and the other row returns. These would be 2" on center each way. However does it make sense to center the whole thing in the 24" stud bay or shift it some nominal distance left or right to accomodate whatever equipment that usually goes on one end of the manifold. I see photos of manifolds fed from one end or the other, or both. Is there a typical convention to the orientation?

Thanks

John

If there is any convention, my place is not following it as I have manifolds fed from both left and right.  These are Uponor TruFLOW manifolds and it looks to me like you can set them up either direction.  I had assistance, but if I hadn't done it before, I would have wanted to have one in hand before setting the risers....

Basically what ICF indicated...you really need to know where you will locate and how you will plumb the manifold BEFORE you do the framing. In fact, we normally locate/plumb the manifold and pressurize/test the circuits with air BEFORE the pour.
