I've worked with closed and open loop geothermal design and installs, but I have an idea and I'm trying to refine the idea or scrap it. Recently my dog nearly died due to the heat. Not unreasonable that she gets some relief from the heat! I was looking to do climate control of a dog house but the thought occurred, due to my large property and excavation equipment, I am wondering about a passive geothermal system with a closed horizontal loop. I am estimating load to be about 1000btu/h. I was thinking of running the fluid as EW into a floor radiant tube system. This would get that floor feeling pretty darn good! And my hope is to see how much further I can take this. My biggest issue with a refrigeration unit is evaporator filter fouling. Radiant would be silent, cheap, and reliable, but I have yet to fully quantify the performance estimates.

Patent it....put tubing in concrete then lay sand on it.
