Greetings subzero, welcome to the forums.

Geothermal heat pumps can work with well water. Scaling can be a problem. You need 2 gpm per ton flow for the heat pump to work properly. You also need a place to discharge the water after going through the heat pump.

Tonnage is determined by doing a heat loss calculation on your house.

If you go with a closed ground loop with antifreeze, then you need 3gpm per ton.

As far as being "under tight wraps".... each system has do be designed according to the specifics of the site, building, resources, etc.

This is still an emerging industry and you can't expect to find all of the answers just floating around.

This forum is here to help, but a few of people come with unrealistic expectations and leave disappointed.

Hope we can help
