My wife and I are in the design phase of our retirement home.  We intend to use geothermal hydronic in floor heat.  The floors will be 3/4" hardwood.  I understand that I cannot use the geothermal system to provide cooling under the flooring.  I was contemplating utilzing the cool geothermal liquid by pumping it to the indoor units of a split air conditioning system.  Will this work?  Are there any difficultys that I should watch out for?

Thanks for the help.

This will work just fine. Actually all you will need to do is utilize small air handling units with water coils. I believe Terratherm is a unit that some of our clients have used before. Do a little digging and you'll find that this is fairly common practice. I have also heard of the small minisplit units being used, but be careful on sizing and air noise. I leave most of this up to the HVAC guys. We just install the loopfields. Hope this helps.
