What should the air tempreture be at the registers? I'm getting with my 4 ton Climate Master tranquility 87 degrees on 1st stage and about 94 degrees on 2nd stage. The way I measured was putting a regular dial type house thermostat on the regiter.

I've seen people talking about 110 degrees.

Thanks

John

Need to know return air temperature. System should raise air temp approx 25-30 degrees. Thermometer may be off - check it in ice water (32) and boiling water (212) if those values are in its display range.

I used a wall mount thermomoter, the kind for measuring room tempreture. Don't know if it will give accurate measurements.

The temps you are getting seem about right. I get 97° when heating with my single stage 4.5 ton Florida Heat Pump. I have seen a 105° right of the top of the heat pump.

I would have to wonder if the device would measure fast enough to get the top temperature of the air coming out, and not just the amount stored in the metal after it comes out.
The 110 or so degrees would be the general air temperature leaving the device. By the time it gets through a register, it might be less.
Is there a particular reason you're measuring this? Is your house not staying warm? Personally, for me with small children, I'd be happier with the less temperature the vent has while still keeping the house warm.

No Problems

Just want to make sure everything is working the way it should.

Thanks John

A fair point has been made here. if you are comfortable, then whatever your heat pump is doing is probably ok. If something seems amiss (such as Linda's higher electric bill) then it should be looked in to, but not with a decorative thermometer.
Good luck,
