Anyone out there familiar with the switch 2/5 setting on a Geocomfort E Series unit that disables 3rd Stage heat? From what I've nosed through the documentation I have, I looks like even when this switch is off it will still allow Emergency heat if needed... Would this simply be Resistant heat introduced along with the regular heat pump operation to meet temperature by a certain time (when the switch is on)? Will setting this switch to "OFF" gain any electrical efficiency vs degrade "normal" heating capabilities (We're in Eastern IA). My thermostat only show 1st (green), 2nd (amber), and Em (red) stages - is there any way to tell when this 3rd stage is being "mixed" in, if that is the case? Also, does anyone know the warranty on these units? THANKS!!

Did you find the answer to your question? Can the installer answer your question? |

No answer yet.... I have a call in to the installer, who is very competent, but because of so, is likewise extremely busy / hard to catch... Just hoping I might find someone a little more familiar than I with these.. I've also noticed this thing running a lot in the amber / 2nd stage, even when the temp is at what it should be and the unit kicks for a short time (it seems to go directly to 2nd stage, from what I'm seeing).. Thanks |

GeoComfort systems used to be made by Water Furnace. Maybe someone more familiar with WF can help you out.
Good Luck |
