Anyone have experence with any good geo contractors in the Stamford, Ct area.

I am considering one from across the state but am a little worried about future service- about hour and 15 away. They do have service plan but seems to far to get good service if really need it- freezing cold in the middle of the night.

Check out www.totalgreenus.com.  We are a highly experienced DX geo designer/installer in Orange County NY.  We work in Connecticut and would be pleased to estimate your job.   We have dozens of very happy clients throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskills.

Since you are renovating you can control insulation - which makes a great difference in the size of the system required.  You should do TWO systems - upstairs and down.  It will work better in the long run and for the additional cost (adds about 10-15%) is well worth the money.

Just based on square footage - and with proper insulation (we recommend foam because it air seals as well as insulates) the heat load should come in at about 60,000 BTU/H give or take 10%.  The cost for a high quality DX installation should come in the upper $50's to low 60's - depending on complexity of the HVAC component.

Regarding service - generally geothermal installers work with local HVAC - who handle the service - which for the most part is unnecessary if the system is set up right to begin with...

If you would like to talk about geo in general - feel free to contact us.
