since there has been an uproar from my competerors about our geothermal systems i though i would ask to see what everybody else out there thought, we are doing things with our systems that no one around here can do , foaming insulating  entire house , puting geothermal system in with erv systems , and producing monumental results , we have 7,000sqft houses that there total utility bills with city water, sewer and electircity arent reaching $150.00 a month , our competetors are a bit jealous so they have to stir the pot with our customers so then u have to go back and re sell your self, so my question is should foam inulation be part of the 30% tax credit , along with stand by generator for the geothermal unit

Maybe we should make insulation, sealing, ERVs and other energy efficiency measures eligible for a 30% tax credit and pay for it by reducing or removing the geothermal tax credit.

I would also disagree with the proposal that standby generators get a tax credit. They are expensive enough as it is.

Congress addressed this issue already,

border
Tax Credit Amount: 10% of the cost, up to $500
Expires: December 31, 2011

Spray foam in a can, designed to air seal. Labor not included in the tax credit.
