The best thermostat hands down is the one that your installer and their techs are the most familiar with. We had a rash of issues here when a manufacturer started promoting their thermostat that was different from the one most installers were familiar with. A miss-programed thermostat will bring you back here looking for the smoking gun about being short looped, or the manual J is incorrect, when it was the T-stat all along.

Roger that
Its a Ford-Chevy-Dodge kind of question. Most work well; all have die-hard fans and foes. Find a contractor you trust and let him / her install what they prefer.

I find the old honey well analog to be very reliable and long lasting, Having been in property management for over 15 yrs and have replaced my share of white rodgers and oh so many cheap digitals.
