I have had a geothermal heat pump since 2002 with a water heater dsh. My water heater started to leak so am going to replace it myself. The dsh is hooked up to the bottom of the water heater with two hoses connected to the drain with no shutoffs on the hoses. How do I disconnect the hoses from the drain on the water heater? Is there small hoses going in the drain that I will have to pull out and reconnect? thanks for your help

First and foremost, make SURE you disconnect the desuperheater! If you drain the water and the circulator starts, you WILL burn out the circulator.

Do you only have one tank or a buffer tank as well?
We don't recommend a single tank set-up.
You likely have a coaxial hook up at the bottom of your tank. If you have the manual to your heat pump you will find there is more than one way to hook up dsh, so, if you can't save the coax tube, you can use a different install configuration with parts available at any hardware store.
