Now that they have been out there a little while, what is everyone's opinion on the WF and Hydron hybrids.

We know other brands were not reliable. The Hydro Deltas for instance and we don't seem to have much experience with the Econars, so....

Was Hydro bad engineering or a bad idea? Or both?
Has WF et. al worked out the bugs?

My Hydro-Temp I believe is the only hybrid that can heat water and air at the same time, so my comments are based on what I have read about the others.

Waiting for the air thermastat to be satisfied, before the radiant water can begin to re-heat, doesn't seem like an optimal system. I read that run times can be programed in at 20, 30, or 40 minutes per mode, but of course the compressor has to stop and wait 5 min before running in the other mode. That seems like kind of short cycles, compared to long run times in low stages.

I am not an engineer or tech, but I know as a home owner I liked the idea of getting both from the same unit, that was before I learned about the compromises.

My initial post (in hindsight) seemed to poo poo hybrid design. That was un-intended.
I am interested in the technology, but not the associated headaches of yester year.
