New to the forum and trying to learn. I am very interested in going geothermal for heat and cool.  I am located east of buffalo, ny.  The house is 1950 sqft, with vaulted sealings, and 2 bedrooms upstairs with an indoor balcony(post and beam house)  Currently hot water base board heat through a boiler.  A seperate Unico Model Mc2436c with high airflow flexible ducts provides cooling to the three bedrooms.  The previous owners couldnt afford cooling in the rest of the house.  I have a good well that is only used for the outside faucets, since we recently connected to the towns water supply.  (I know its a good well since i forgot and left it on for 36 hours two weeks ago to water pumkins, and it never ran dry).  Anyway the house is located on 45 acres with plenty of room for laying pipe if needed.  I recently put in a 9 KW solar array and am now looking to lessing my dependacy on the propane boiler and the air unit.  So after rambling on now, I will be looking to contact installers in my state, doesnt look to be a whole lot of them, but i would greatly appreciate any insight on the type of system to look into or any recommendations you might have.

Look into open loop if your water quality checks out and you have a place to dispose of the water.

your system presents multiple challanges. you'll need a real pro (not a rookie). i agree doc might be a good fit if you are in his ao. you can also check "igshpa" list of certified installers.

Let us know how we can be of assistance.... Just got back from Europe. Boy, if Europe is a predictor of outcome what might happen here in a couple of year, we will be in for a wild ride! Things are getting extreme there, especially in Germany, since they are shutting down all the nuclear power plants.
