Unemployed Architect building his own house, pulling in every favor ever owed. 2 ton vertical well, climate master geo system. Big commercial driller did my well and will purge and fill my line. Got a climate master 2 ton unit matched to my load. Need a flow center. These are favors from guys that do schools and other large facilities (they don't do residential). My engineer friend advises a pressured system with a 3 speed pump that matches my system along with a pressure vessel to maintain system pressure over time. He fully admits this may be over-kill. I'm reading about what appears to be a simpler (and less expensive) non-pressurized system that may be better for a DIY guy, a B&D GT1 ( http://phoenixflowcenters.com/phoen...ucts_id=31 ). Appears to be a single speed motor.

Can I have your opinions please.

Sounds like the single pump with a 26-99 is a good choice for you.

There is little retail sales of these units, so internet searches yield limited results.

The best flow center for you is likely the one familiar to your help....and available to them.

My help does not do residential geothermal and has no preferred unit.
That's why I'm here asking.

1 pump QT flow center

It appears that the QT1 is the same as the GT1 except with a white box around it. Where do you buy your units? Is the price I see listed on those sites contractor price or suggested retail price? (Account holders get a reduced price?)

Also on the units with multi-speed pumps, are the speeds changing as demand changes or are you just selecting the best speed for your application and wiring for that?

That is correct, the QT and GT1 are the same except the box around it. Same insulation values, just neater box. We typically use the QT, as just a better fit and finish!

Price wise you can hit the distributor locator and have your guys approach them for price....Iwould say however that price on this product is fairly transparent.

it is, but diy cheaper chickens are as follows:

Hoping you have ~ 400 ft of vertical boreholes if unit matches load and load is only 20,000 btuh at 75-85% of peaks.

1" hose x 200 psi rated, insulated.
pump on a brick off hose from a couple of 3/4"T's for flushing up to 3 lines off header (12 gpm flush)
can even be air-cooled B&G pl36
PIPE into a 1.1/4"T from field, and valve up 3/4" to nipple and put 1" hose on top of top valve off T
go to little 2.1/2gal car boy (mcmasters dist and others) has a 3/4 threaded cap and vent) stick in joists

off bottom of T go to pump and to 3/4T valved at unit for flushing both ways

wire pump at 10 a fuse

add antifreeze

see www.FlowCenterProducts.com

if you really want a wall mount 1-pump B&G has NRF36 3-speed, but are you going to slow it down going into cooling season?

G Fos has lasted over 26 years but is not the least expensive, nor would be lasting longer than NRF.
