My used Tranquility 27 was installed about a year ago. I noticed last month that it was staying on longer than usual, so I had a repair person come out to fix it, who found that the R410A was low and charged me $330 to refill it. We are running an open-loop system from a well. Last week I could hear the compressor and water pipes kicking off about 6 minutes after it turned on; Investigating today we found (1.) Coolant pressures the same level as when it was filled; ie no coolant leaks. (2.) The thermostat and controller are all calling for heat even after it shuts down;i.e. the G, Y1, Y2 are all on. After it shuts down the status on the controller changes from solid green to flashing green. The status on the interface board changes from flashing 9 to flashing 20. The compressor shuts down, the units power draw drops from 16 Amps to < 1 Amp. Any thoughts on what to look for in debugging this unit? Thanks, Robert

you had a fp1 fault and it was not low on charge. The tech saw low suction pressure and added refrigerant to bring it up. The unit has contaminated wet oil and it clogged a screen downstream of the TXV. I have more than 40 of these installed and this is why I bailed on that brand. They still have that issue. remove that screen it will take about 8 hours to do it right.

Right there are quite a few possibilities but I see the excact same problems common to the brand and model and know these units are quite tolerant of low waterflow but intolerant of low refrigerant flow thru the TXV.

Had a few act up myself.......just rather verify waterflow before opening ref side.

I use PT ports and do not attach manifold guages unless I have too. Unfortunatly I almost always have to.

For what its worth.  I too had trouble with my CM Tranq 27, the second year after a new install in 2008.  It was FP1 fault if I remember correctly and after searching around (I believe I found the solution on this forum).... it turned out it was a somewhat known problem with a batch of thermistor sensors they were using for a period of time... would have been units manufactured some time before 2008 though...    I put in the replacements ($20 each, ouch! didn't want to wait for warranty parts :)) and everything has been fine since then.
