Day1. Tranquility problem. I have been building custom homes for 16 years. Have installed 90+ efficiency gas furnaces in every house to date. For the houses that have gone the geothermal route, we had Florida Heat Pumps installed. Had installed my first geothermal unit back in 2003 on my personal house and have been a fan since then. I have lived in that house for many years and didn't have any problems with that geothermal unit. As for the other units, geothermal that is, that I have placed into my clients homes, have never had significant problems that weren't addressed and fixed easily as part of my warranty. None of my homeowners contacted me after my warranty had expired with them to tell me that there were problems with the system. Furthermore, I have good relationships with the few companies I trust to install systems for me. Fast forward to February, 2016. It's been a little more than one year that I have installed one 6 ton unit and two 3 ton units to my personal house that I had built. Other than eventually replacing thermostats (that took a few trips by my installer) that had been updated but incorrectly shipped with two of the units, had not had major problems with the systems. My installer had told me a few months after I purchased them that he was having trouble with another client that recently had installed theirs before mine that the water was corroding the coil and that inevitably the clients received a new system after much resistance from the manufacturer according to my installer. Red screen comes on over a week ago and my installer has been out twice to add Freon to the system and we fear the worst that my coil is going out as it had with his other customer but also purchased a Climate Master Tranquility unit. We have been hunkering down around the fireplace for over a week now wondering what our fate will be. I have seen many phone calls in the past from my installer to CM support. With this recent interruption of my unit going down, my installer has been in contact with CM and they are wanting him to go through steps that he thinks is pointless, but nonetheless necessary to have support from CM. My installer is bracing me for the worst, but we are hoping for the best. We will have to do a leak test and then go from there. I have had this company install many units for my homeowners for well over 15 years and I have not had too many problems that weren't easily addressed. This time it seems different. I'm sure it's a little due to the high cost of these units as well as what I am hearing from my installer. Will try to remain optimistic and let's see if the manufacturer helps with the situation. Day 1 of forum.
